10 Things Everyone Should Know About Their Web Business (Especially Hosting)

Filed under: Billing, General, HOWTO's — boo @ 5:03 pm

10) Word of Mouth is Your Best Friend

Happy clients recommend your service to their friends. They post about it on web sites and they link to you from their web sites. In the long run, a satisfied customer with a big mouth will likely get you more customers than the best advert out there.

9) Learn to be Flexible but Set Your Limits

Every client is different. You’re going to get whiny clients, you’re going to get lazy clients and you’re going to get belligerent clients.

À la carte Order Forms

Filed under: General, HOWTO's, Ubersmith DE, Ubersmith Lite, Ubersmith Pro — boo @ 6:27 pm

A good example is the Ubersmith Pro order form.

In this post I’m going to go over how to update an order form in Ubersmith to allow the client to select which service plan they would like to sign up for. Tracking Number Trivia

Filed under: HOWTO's, Ubersmith DE, Ubersmith Lite, Ubersmith Pro — mstyne @ 11:10 am

Tracking numbers for shipping companies have become an integral part of day to day operations for most businesses. Even Google allows you to search for a package based solely on its tracking number.

Ubersmith makes it easy to access the current information for a shipment being handled by UPS, FedEx, or DHL.

When adding a comment or posting a reply, simply type:

fedex #
ups #
dhl #

with your tracking number after the ‘#’ sign.

Example:

If I were to type:

ups #1Z50V7420328473247

upon sending my comment or reply, Ubersmith would generate a link which looked like:

ups #1Z50V7420328473247

I can then click that link to open UPS’s website in a new window to view the current status of the package.
